Terms of Use

Split is a game of duels: two answers, you pick one, and you see how everyone else voted. It is free, it needs no account, and it is provided as is, without warranty.

Your votes

Votes are anonymous and are only ever used as counts. There is no right answer and nothing you pick is attached to your identity. The percentages you see come from other players, and they move as people play.

Content you suggest

You can suggest duels, in words or in pictures. By sending one you confirm that you have the right to share it, and you allow us to publish it in the app, in any language, and to edit or adapt it so it makes sense to players elsewhere. You keep whatever rights you had; nothing you send is published with your device identifier attached to it.

Do not send content that is illegal where you are, that attacks or harasses a person or a group, that is sexual, that impersonates someone, or that you do not have the right to share. Pictures of a private individual who has not agreed to appear are not acceptable either.

Moderation, and what we will not tolerate

Nothing a player sends is shown to other players before a human has read it. We have no tolerance for objectionable content: a suggestion that breaks the rules above is rejected, and content already published is removed as soon as we find out about it.

You can report any duel from inside the app, and we act on reports. We can block a device that repeatedly sends abusive content, which ends its ability to suggest anything. We can also stop publishing suggestions from a device without warning if that is what it takes to keep the app usable for everyone else.

Purchases

Removing advertising is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is tied to the store account you bought it with and can be restored on any device signed in with it. Purchases are handled by Apple or by Google depending on where you installed the app, and refunds are requested from them.

Availability

Content is added and changed over time, and questions are written for each language rather than translated word for word, so two players in two countries do not see the same duels. We may change or stop the service; nothing here is a commitment that a given duel stays available.
