Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Split app collects, why, and the choices you have. There is no account and no login, and we collect very little, but the app now lets you send us things, and this policy says exactly what happens to them.

What we collect

We do not collect your name, your contacts or your precise location.

Content you send us

All of this is optional. The app works fully without it.

How we use it

Advertising

Split shows a full-screen ad from time to time: at most one every five minutes, and never before you have answered a duel. A one-off in-app purchase removes them for good, and every question stays free either way.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives your device's advertising identifier and the technical information an ad request carries. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent before any ad is requested, through Google's own consent form; if you decline personalised ads you still see ads, but they are not based on your interests. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings, and on Android you can ask the system to stop sharing it altogether. What Google does with that data is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Crash reports

We collect crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix what breaks. A crash report describes our code, not you: no identifier of yours is attached to it. Usage statistics through Firebase Analytics are collected only if you accepted them in the consent form described above.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share the advertising identifier and the technical data an ad request needs with Google AdMob, our advertising provider, and crash and usage data with Firebase, which processes it on our behalf. Nothing else is shared with anyone. Everything else is processed only to operate the app, on our hosting provider's servers.

Data retention

Moderation and safety

Nothing a player sends is shown to other players before a human has reviewed it. You can report any question from inside the app, and we can block a device that repeatedly sends abusive content.

Children

Split requires no account, asks for no personal information, and is intended for a general audience. Because players can suggest content, everything is reviewed before publication.

Your choices

If you have never sent us a suggestion, a report or a message, there is nothing tied to you that we could look up: your votes are anonymous counts.

If you have, you can ask us to delete it. Contact us at the address below and include the date and roughly what you sent, so we can find it. You can also stop all data collection at any time by not using the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above.
